Quercus Bicolor (Swamp White Oak)

This is an interesting shot of an Oak tree taken at night during winter.  The street light gives the tree an orange glow.  The rough texture of the bark adds significant character to the tree.  The bare branches look almost like roots stretching into the night's sky.

Oaks are my favorite species of tree.  The Swamp White Oak however, is not one of my fondest.  This particular Swamp White Oak my just be my favorite.  I think it has more character than most.
