Digital Days Workshop and Model Shoot

I attended the Digital Days workshop in Denver over the weekend.  It was a two day event that featured a live model shoot on the second day.  The first day was intended for beginners and trust me it was very basic for most of the presentation.  There was some interesting information on Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.  I've never used the program and recently upgraded to CS4 but I was impressed with all the features packed into such an inexpensive program.  The speaker for day one was Leslie Fisher and she was entertaining and interesting.  I only wish the material wasn't as basic.

Day two featured Leslie Fisher and John Omvik, both excellent speakers.  John ended up costing me a few bucks.  He gave an excellent presentation on digital workflow using Adobe Lightroom 2.  So of course I had to go out and buy it.  Unfortunately now I have one more program to learn how to use.  The model shoot was interesting in that it featured a juggler who juggled knives and four girls as well as Leslie with a birthday cake.  To hire that many people for an hour and a half would have cost more than the workshop.

Overall I would recommend the workshop.  Considering the cost verses the class time and model shoot I would say it is a great value.  If you are a Lightroom and Photoshop expert or even experienced user there won't be much for you.  If you are a true beginner than day one is for you.  Day two is basically for people that know how to use their cameras and are looking for was to improve their workflow.

Here are a couple of shots from the model shoot portion of the Digital Days workshop.

Don't take your eyes off the knife!

I must have been hungry because I only took pictures of the cake.
